  Barcelona, located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, has a Mediterranean climate characterised by mild winters and warm summers. Here are the coldest and hottest months with their average temperatures:

 Coldest Month: January

  • Average Temperature: 9°C (48°F)
    • High: 13°C (55°F) 
    • Low: 5°C (41°F), In some cases outside of Barcelona below 0 °C

January is typically Barcelona's coldest month, though temperatures remain relatively mild compared to many other European cities. The weather can be cool and rainy, but snow is extremely rare. 

Hottest Month: August

  • Average Temperature: 25°C (77°F)
    • High: 30°C (86°F) Extreme 39 °C (over 100 °F)
    • Low: 20°C (68°F)

August is the hottest month, coinciding with the peak of summer. Temperatures can occasionally rise above 30°C (86°F), and humidity levels may make it feel warmer. This is also the busiest tourist season due to the pleasant weather.

Note: Barcelona's climate is generally mild year-round, making it an attractive destination for visitors in any season. However, spring (April-June) and autumn (September-November) offer a comfortable balance between warmth and fewer crowds.

 Water Restrictions Due to ongoing drought conditions, the Government of Catalonia has declared a state of emergency and imposed water restrictions affecting 229 municipalities, including Barcelona. Travellers are advised to adhere to these restrictions and follow instructions from local authorities.

 Transportation Updates Barcelona-El Prat Airport is currently operating with a very low delay status. However, travellers should monitor their flight status regularly, especially during adverse weather conditions, to stay informed about any potential delays or cancellations.

 Health and Safety Measures While specific COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed, it's advisable to stay informed about any health advisories or requirements that may affect your travel. Consult official health sources for the latest information.

Cultural Site Updates The Barcelona City Council has approved new public and private tariffs for 2025. Notably, the entrance fee to Park Güell has increased from €10 to €20, and the admission to the Tibidabo amusement park has risen from €35 to €39. These changes took effect on January 1, 2025.
